Fish In Today: Manfari/ Cuban Gar
Atractosteus Tristoechus
Manfari
Cuban Gar
Thee rarest and most sensitive of all gar species, water quality wise. Impossible to keep in poor water conditions, and require a very stable water pH. not too many around these days:( i still want to get a head count on these beasts:) I know of at least 10 remaining specimens in Singapore. Mine are steady at 22" long and ~3.5" thick all round. Although 3' ones are not uncommon around here. I have 2 of them in 5x3x2 tank now, planning to upgrade them to a 6x4x2.5 eventually.
